ALLISON: Roderick! Just the man I wanted to see.
RODERICK: What's up?
ALLISON: You want to go an end-of-the-year party in a few weeks after school ends?
JASON: You're not gonna tell him everything?
ALLISON: Shut up, Jason.
JASON: If you say no, she can't go.
ALLISON: What did I tell you?
LLOYD: Now that's not exactly what I said, and you two need to quit fighting. First, no one should make any plans until I see some grades.
ALLISON: It's after class is over, it won't get in the way.
LLOYD: Regardless, if I'm disappointed, then you're going to be disappointed too.
ALLISON: I had a great semester, Dad.
LLOYD: Fine. Then what I said if you'd learn to listen is that you can go if it's the kind of thing Roderick would be comfortable attending.
JASON: That's a nice way of saying don't come home drunk.
ALLISON: Shut up. Roderick, it's after class on the last day at one of the kids' houses. We just hang out for a few hours, they'll be barbecue, I promise no one will make you sing or perform or anything. Oh, and Carlie's definitely going.
RODERICK: Then I guess I have to go, right?
BROOKE: You're weird with these parties. You see these doofuses all the time, why it is so special to see them at some party?
ALLISON: You'll get it one day.
JASON: So am I invited to this thing?
ALLISON: They're not your friends! Find your own!
JASON: Just messing with you, cool it.
LLOYD: That reminds me - Roderick, do you have any summer plans yet?
RODERICK: Um, not in particular. I mean, I never really do.
LLOYD: That's fine, but there are a lot of activities around you. You're not into sports so much, but you could take some summer classes at the college, there's a lot of clubs-
ALLISON: No one wants to do that kind of thing in the summer, Dad.
LLOYD: Hey, it wouldn't hurt you to do some of these things, build up the ol' college resume. Yours is a little thin.
RODERICK: Actually, I might just do some writing over the summer. I just haven't felt like I had the time the past few months.
LLOYD: All right, just as long as you let me know. Oh, your mother's running a little late, we'll have dinner when she gets here, got it?
RODERICK: Yeah, okay. I'll just be around.
JASON: Hold on a sec. Roderick!
RODERICK: Yeah?
JASON: Hey, you know, I might not have any plans for the break either. I was thinking about getting like a part-time job, but I can't really find anything and I don't think Dad'll let me yet. So we can hang out if you get bored.
RODERICK: Sure, that would be good.
JASON: But I won't get in the way or anything. You'll probably want to spend a lot of time with Carlie, or maybe just by yourself, so you can tell me to buzz off if I get annoying.
RODERICK: Jason, you're not gonna annoy me, and you don't need to look for permission or anything. If we're both bored, we can find something to do.
JASON: Okay, I just didn't want to bug you.
RODERICK: You won't.
JASON: Cool, cool.
