Happy birthday, sweetheart! You’ve navigated a year with more obstacles with most. The rainclouds are behind you and I know that your 16th year will be only sunny days.

I wish we could celebrate tonight, but I’m stuck working late again so we’ll have to wait until Friday. Don’t worry, I won’t forget. It might not be a very exciting day, but I hope you’ll find some reason to smile.
